North West Business Leadership Team moves forward with new CEO
The North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) network has announced the appointment of Emma Degg as its new chief executive officer.
Emma will head up the regional business leader network to replace outgoing CEO Geoffrey Piper, who plans to retire following 27 years at the helm.
NWBLT chairman Juergen Maier believes Emma’s expertise will serve the organisation well in the months and years ahead.
He said: “I am very much looking forward to working with her, as our new leader, to take forward our great work and influence the many important issues facing our country.
“We have an ever increasing opportunity to do this, as our region embraces further devolution, drives a stronger industrial strategy, invests in more infrastructure, and aims to develop better skills.”
Juergen added: “All of that can only happen effectively with strong business leadership for which we play a critical part.”
Commenting on her appointment, Emma said she is “honoured” to be taking up the role of CEO at “a critical time for the future of our region and country”.
She explained: “The members I will have the privilege to represent are amongst the most experienced leaders in their sectors and have an enormous amount to contribute to our future economic prosperity.”
Speaking further, Emma praised Geoffrey Piper for his “very significant contribution to the whole of the North West” during his time as CEO, adding: “I am looking forward to ensuring that the NWBLT continues to make a positive difference to our great region.”
