Coach Lane housing development worth an estimated £16.2m to local economy
New housing development North Gosforth Park, based at Coach Lane, Newcastle, will provide a palpable boost to the local economy, according to housebuilder Barratt Homes North East.
Set to inject £16.2m into the region, the development will include a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, supporting 400 jobs in the area.
The construction input into the development is expected to be in excess of £18m, with 90% of this sum being spent in the region.
Neil Milburn, Development Director at Barratt Homes North East, commented: “North Gosforth is a highly sought-after location and this investment into the area will certainly have a positive impact on the local economy.
“We’re committed to investing in the regions in which we choose to build to ensure that we provide long term, sustainable housing for future generations.”
The build will also provide ten apprenticeship opportunities in the area.
Neil continued: “We know how important it is to support the future of the building industry, with the skills shortage in construction still very much a prevalent issue.
“By offering opportunities for apprenticeships on developments like North Gosforth Park, we aim to continue our work towards plugging the skills gap in our industry.”
