Housebuilder donates £1,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital
Persimmon Homes Wessex has donated £1,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as part of its Community Champions initiative.
The Malmesbury-based developer awarded the cash to the children’s charity and the money raised will go towards vital accommodation close to the hospital which enables parents and carers to be at their child’s bedside within minutes, at whatever time of the day and night.
Fundraisers from the hospital applied for the donation via Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme.
The initiative is open to charities, groups and individuals looking to match funds up to the value of £1,000 that they have already raised themselves. Since its launch in March 2015 Persimmon Homes has donated more than £1 million to charitable causes across the UK.
Pauline Fletcher, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, added: “The work that Great Ormond Street Hospital do is known around the world and there are many families in and around our area who have had to turn to them for care.
“To have a child receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street is a difficult and stressful situation and we hope our £1,000 donation helps ease the pressure off at least one family at a vulnerable time in their life.”
