Weatherproof telephone maker DAC Limited acquires 18th-century former mill in Lancashire
Weatherproof phone manufacturer DAC Limited has acquired larger premises in the Ribble Valley area of Lancashire with funding from Barclays Business.
The company secured a commercial mortgage with the small business arm of international financial services provider Barclays for the purchase of Union Mill, an 18th-century former cotton mill in the village of Sabden.
DAC Limited said the deal has provided it with a material asset and platform for future growth.
Founded in 2006, DAC Limited owns the commercial telephone activity of RACAL Acoustics Limited and manufactures a range of weatherproof phones, emergency phones and help points.
Andrew Faulkner, director of DAC Limited, said: “Vandal- and weather-resistant telephones are an important method of providing private and public access communications.
“Our business has successfully grown over the last few years and as a result we were in need of larger premises.”
He added: “We are grateful for the continued support of Barclays, who are an integral part of our team.”
The deal was structured by Barclays business development manager Jayne Preston and Barclays business manager Jon Alder.
Jon Alder commented: “By working closely with the management team and really understanding the business, Barclays has been able to help DAC secure a valuable asset and acquire the additional space they need to allow the business to continue growing.”
