House builder celebrating 20 years with charity ball
Huddersfield-based house builder SB Homes is set to host a charity ball in aid of Kirkwood Hospice and Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, to mark a successful 20 years in business.
Taking place at Casa in Brighouse on Saturday 20th May, the event is aiming to raise over £10,000 for the two local charities — which support people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Local businesses are also backing the event by pledging sponsorship funds. Bespoke joinery firm Huddersfield Interiors is set to be the headline sponsor, alongside associate sponsors Ramsdens and Easy Bathrooms.
Stephen Byram, SB Homes’ founder and managing director, said: “We’re a local house builder and our core values are all about supporting local people — so we had to choose causes that were integral to the Huddersfield community.
“What these charities do is invaluable to our town — most people who live here know someone that has been supported by one of them. So, we wanted to give something back.”
More than 200 people will be served a three-course dinner on the evening, followed by live music, casino tables and entertainment from a magician, an auction and a DJ.
Gaz Haigh, director of main sponsor Huddersfield Interiors, said: “We’re delighted to be on board with SB Homes to support these two great charities. Plus we’re looking forward to a great evening of fundraising!”
Other event sponsors include Jewson, Ozone Cooling, Jane Stocks Estate Agents, GP Metal, Clifford Decoration and Design, KB Mortgage Services, Towergate Insurance, Movin Lettings, Timber Specialists, Honeycombe Kitchens, Waxmans, NIS and Peel One.
SB Homes is encouraging other local people to support the event by offering auction prizes and sponsorship funds. There are five table sponsorship opportunities left, at £100 each, and one associate sponsor at £500.
