GVA brings ‘exciting and rare’ £800k Stockport investment site to market
Commercial property advisory firm GVA has been tasked with bringing a development opportunity in Stockport to market.
The firm was instructed to invite offers of around £800k for a 0.6-acre site in Heaton Chapel, located to the rear of the former Tesco Metro on Wellington Road North.
The land previously had planning permission secured for 10 three- and four-bedroom homes, although permission has since lapsed.
Chris Walker, associate director of GVA’s Manchester-based restructuring and recoveries team, said: “The site off Meadows Road is an exciting and rare opportunity to deliver something interesting in an area where there is high demand for good quality housing at a time when there are relatively few suitable sites available.
“We anticipate most interest will be from house-builders, however the site may also be suitable for alternative uses subject to obtaining the necessary consents.”
Speaking further, Chris said he believes opportunities like the Meadows Road site “seldom come to market”.
He continued: “The pressure of local authority housing targets and a lack of suitable sites means this is a fantastic opportunity to build a quality scheme in a high demand area.”
