Planning approval secured for Grade-II listed Grantley Hall's second phase of development
Harrogate Borough Council has granted Grantley Hall Ltd full planning approval for its second phase of development as part of the renovation of the Grade-II listed property.
The application detailed the creation of a state-of-the-art space built alongside the Japanese Garden, intended to create a function space for weddings, corporate events and larger parties, as well as an independent restaurant, bar and private lounge.
Work is already underway with the restoration and redevelopment of the main house, along with the construction of a new spa and wellness centre with additional suite-style bedrooms to the rear of the property, which received full planning approval in June 2016.
A spokesperson for Grantley Hall Ltd, said: “This marks a significant milestone for the project.
“We’ve been working in partnership with the council and its affiliated parties for more than two years to ensure the development becomes a project that the region can be proud of, attracting an international audience to this beautiful part of the UK.
“The approval from the council and the support of the local community are key for making this project a success and we are committed to continuing our work with all those involved.”
The project is due for completion in 2018.
