Leeds-based HR firm launches product development strategy

Cascade HR has launched a new-look product management tool to support the ongoing evolution of its fully-integrated HR and payroll software.

The Change Lab ideas portal will provide a hub for Cascade’s clients to share and vote on themes that will shape the technology’s product roadmap moving forward.

Every customer can now submit their ideas for new features, functionality and modules. They will also receive an allocated number of votes per year which enables them to influence the decision-making process and timescale of upcoming development themes. Development themes will then be reviewed quarterly and the roadmap adjusted accordingly.

The first significant change will be the roll out of enhanced dashboards – a new-look ‘home page’ which will give Cascade users quicker and savvier access to the top-line data they need at their fingertips.

Gender Pay Gap reporting capabilities will also be introduced in Cascade’s April release – a key feature ensuring clients can comply with legislative changes, without the headache of added administration. The functionality will mean that the system can automatically calculate the six pieces of statutory data that organisations with more than 250 employees should now disclose.

The next landmark release date will be in summer, when a second major theme will be revealed.

The launch of the new Change Lab portal reflects Cascade’s commitment to innovation and agility in an ever-changing HR tech landscape. Commenting on this modern development strategy, product director Paul Sparkes said: “We’ve never believed in introducing functionality for functionality’s sake – not when we’re striving to help clients better manage their human capital.

“It is important that our roadmap addresses the processes and solves the problems that HR teams need to streamline in order to add value. So who better to steer the development of our system, than the people who use the technology every day.”

Within the first week of its launch, the Change Lab received 689 votes, clearly indicating the popularity of this collaborative hub moving forwards.
