Sue welcomed back to Czajka Care Group

Sue Green has returned to Czajka Care Group eight years after leaving the company, to become the registered manager of its Nab Wood based Staveley Birk Leas Nursing Home.

In her new position, Sue, who is a qualified nurse, is responsible for managing a team of 117 highly-skilled nursing, care and ancillary staff who look after 60 young adults with physical disabilities that are in need of nursing, respite, palliative and rotational care.

Sue says: “I qualified as a nurse in 1986 and joined Czajka Care Group in 1989, where I spent eight years at Staveley Birk Leas, which was known as Staveley Oaks at the time. I then moved across to Czajka’s Fairmount Nursing Home, which is also in the Nab Wood area of Shipley for 12 years. I gained promotion to manager status during that time, and then left to work as a manager for a national care operator.

“I was always happy at Czajka but was keen to experience life at one of the UK’s largest care companies. When I found out that Czajka was looking for a manager I applied for the post, as it is such a special place to be and senior positions like this don’t come up often within the family-run business. With five homes across Yorkshire caring for more than 250 retired and disabled people there is a real depth of knowledge and skill within the teams, which makes it a great place to work.”

Konrad Czajka, Managing Director of Czajka Care Group says: “Having worked at two of our homes before, we knew that Sue would be able to make an immediate impact with our residents and our much-valued team at Staveley Birk Leas. Her medical training, management skills and personality all combine to make her the ideal candidate for the job, and everyone is very excited about welcoming her back to Czajka Care Group.”
