Electric bike retailer 50cycles creates five jobs with new Altrincham store
Fast-growing electric bike retailer 50cycles is expanding into the North West.
The £3.5m-turnover company has created five jobs with its new store in Altrincham, which it said will serve as a hub for its operations in the region.
50cycles has existing sites in London, Brighton, Bristol and Loughborough, but as part of its expansion strategy, the firm is targeting five other UK cities and expects its turnover to hit £10m in the next 18 months.
Located on Church Street, the store will offer models from Kalkhoff, Giant, Cube, Scott, Raleigh and a number of other brands, with prices ranging between £1,000 and £16,000.
50cycles’ Altrincham shop will also house a fully equipped service workshop.
Describing Greater Manchester as the “perfect location with the perfect audience” for 50cycles’ electric bike range, managing director Scott Snaith said: “We’re excited to launch our new store in Altrincham.
“We intend to make it the hub of the North West for our business.”
He continued: “We’ve always had a large concentration of customers from Cheshire and Greater Manchester through our online sales and we felt that it was sensible to open a physical store so customers have easier access to ‘test ride’ the bikes.”
Speaking further, Scott said: “Altrincham is a strategically important location for our business and our existing customer base. It’s has brilliant access to cycleways, a popular commuter location for people working in and around Manchester, Liverpool and Cheshire and the demographics surrounding the town are perfect.”
The store will open this weekend (April 29 and 30).
