Bootle engineering supplies company Lloyd & Jones invests £340k in new manufacturing site
Lloyd & Jones Engineers Ltd has acquired an industrial unit in Lancashire for £340k.
The Bootle-based engineering supplies company bought Unit 12 on Common Bank Industrial Estate in Chorley.
Lloyd & Jones will use the premises as a new manufacturing centre for its recent acquisition, SAL Abrasives.
The deal was brokered by real estate advisory firm Colliers International.
Representing the site’s owner, NIS Holdings Ltd, Colliers secured a long leasehold of 125 years from December 1 1990 at a peppercorn ground rent for the property.
The unit comprises 6,727 sq ft of self-contained warehouse space on Ackhurst Road.
Laura Wilbourn, a surveyor for industrial and logistics at Colliers’ Manchester office, secured the sale.
Commenting on the transaction, she said: “The price achieved on the sale of Unit 12 reflects ongoing high demand for such freehold opportunities.”
