Keepmoat appoints Leeds’ G&H to £7.6m care scheme
Community regeneration specialist Keepmoat has appointed Leeds-based G&H Building Services to deliver the mechanical and electrical services at a new £7.6m care scheme.
Building a 73-bed project in Buxton, on behalf of Housing and Care 21 and Derbyshire County Council, Keepmoat has granted G&H a £1.7m contract to deliver a full in-house design and installation.
Upon completion, the site will be made up of 53 two-bedroom extra care apartments and a specialist 20-place residential care centre. Communal facilities will include a restaurant, salon and health suite.
G&H will be responsible for a number of facets including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, hot water, fire alarms, CCTV, data, small power and gas works.
Director at G&H Building Services, Andrew Hudson, said: “This is a very important scheme given the need to provide more high quality, purpose built extra care facilities to accommodate the UK’s increasingly expanding elderly population.
“It is our first contract with Keepmoat and is a result of the excellent work we have carried out for other large contractors across the UK.
“We actively participate in scheme concepts taking on shared risk at the earliest stages of the tendering process to provide the best value for the client. We then manage the building services process from initial designs to installation onsite.”
