Revealed: The 'iconic' upmarket hotel that will sit next to Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium
Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur are to begin their hunt for a hotel operator upmarket luxury hotel that forms part of the massive regeneration effort attached to their new stadium.
The club have revealed that real estate firm CBRE Hotels are to oversee the search for an operator for the 23-storey hotel which will be one of the largest conferencing and banqueting centres in London once it opens in 2020.
The development represents an opportunity for an operator to brand, shape and run the upmarket venue, which David Bailey at CBRE Hotels has dubbed ‘iconic’, with amenities including a rooftop bar, swimming pool and private member’s area.
Its positioning next to the new 61,000-seater stadium, which is due to be completed in time for the 2018/19 season, will also leave it ideally placed to capitalise on both the Spurs’ home fixtures as well as the ambitious sporting and cultural programme planned for the stadium once it opens.
David Bailey, CBRE Hotels, said: “This is an iconic project in what will be a world class sports and entertainment venue. Such a prestigious development presents a unique opportunity for an hotelier that can match Tottenham Hotspur’s vision and ambition for this project.”
Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director Tottenham Hotspur commented “Since embarking on this exciting journey, 1,000 new jobs in the construction, IT, hospitality, retail and sports industries have been created, singlehandedly spearheading the regeneration of Tottenham.
“Once complete our stunning new stadium, hotel and the wider scheme will deliver significant community benefits and an unrivalled fan experience – creating a world-class sports and entertainment destination – and in our birthplace of Tottenham.”
