Yorkshire dental business secures fourth practise with £1.2m funding package

Dental group, Shaikh and Latif, have expanded to include a fourth dental practice, having secured a £1.2m funding package from Yorkshire Bank.

The group already has practices in Barnsley, Dewsbury and Chester, with this newest site in Leeds, named yourfamilydentist.

This follows on from another practice acquisition in Dewsbury in the latter half of last year.

Richard Couldwell, relationship manager at Yorkshire Bank, said: “We were delighted to support Shaik and Latif in expanding their business once more in such a short space of time.

“We look forward to seeing how their business continues to grow.”

Dr. Arif Shaikh, dental surgeon and joint-owner of Shaikh and Latif, added: “Expanding our business into Leeds means we’ll be able to address the shortage of NHS dentists in the surrounding area, as well as creating more job opportunities.

“In the future, we plan to expand further into the North and North West.”

Shaikh and Latif started their business by acquiring one of the largest NHS dental practices in Barnsley in October 2013.
