Colliers appointed to let £105m Selby logistics and manufacturing park
Glentrool Estates, the property and investment business, has appointed Colliers International to let a new 75-acre logistics and manufacturing park in Sherburn in Elmet, Selby
The £105m development, named Sherburn2, will deliver bespoke buildings and accelerate the creation of new jobs as an extension to the established Sherburn Enterprise Park.
Planning consent has been granted by Selby District Council on the entire site which, combined with The Local Enterprise Partnership’s Growing Places Fund £2.95m capital infrastructure loan, has enabled the implementation of the infrastructure works to begin.
Sherburn2 has outline planning approval for 1.25 million sq ft of development comprising B2 General Industrial, B8 Storage and Distribution with B1C Ancillary Offices.
Plots and buildings will be structured to individual companies’ requirements, including warehouses, external areas and office accommodation.
The first phase, including upgrades to footpaths, cycle ways, roads and highway improvements, is now on underway and scheduled for completion in Autumn 2017.
Sherburn Enterprise Park is currently home to a number of high-profile occupiers including Debenhams; Kingspan; Eddie Stobart; Sainsburys; Optare Coaches; Legal & General Homes and Ultimata Kitchens.
Robert Whatmuff, director in the industrial and logistics division in Colliers International’s Leeds office, said: “Sherburn2 is situated in an excellent area for logistics and manufacturing companies, within minutes of Junction 42 of the A1(M), close to Leeds, the M1 and the M62, the coastal ports of Hull and Grimsby, and regional rail and airports.
“With the high-calibre neighbouring occupiers at this enterprise park, this location is proven and successful.
“The site offers huge flexibility, the current master plan shows units ranging from 35,000 sq ft up to 575,000 sq ft but the site can comfortably accommodate a single footprint of a 1m sq ft cross docked facility.
“There will be buildings to suit a wide variety of small to medium sized enterprises as well as larger manufacturing and distribution companies.”
Jeremy Nolan, director from Glentrool Estates, added: “As Sherburn2 is wholly owned by Glentrool Estates, our project team has the freedom and the flexibility to swiftly move to meet the needs of occupiers’ individual requirements on site.
“This development reinforces our region’s strength in manufacturing and logistics and will provide 1,000’s of jobs for local residents.”
