Jewellery entrepreneur moves to new premises at Dundas Market
An independent Teesside retailer that specialises in handcrafted jewellery and gifts has set up a new outlet at Dundas Indoor Market.
Alta Ego was set up in 2005 by Cleveland College of Art & Design graduate, Nicole Bean, as a means to sell her own range of individual handmade items.
Specialising in handcrafted jewellery, gifts and other vintage wares, Nicole ended up expanding her range of items to include crystals, incense and textiles, and even accepts commissions for her work.
Now, with the help of Teesside property consultants Dodds Brown, Nicole has upped sticks from her previous premises at Wilson Street in Middlesbrough and moved into Dundas Indoor Market.
Following her move, Nicole commented: “Dundas Indoor Market is a really supportive community and I feel very welcome in my new home. My first week here has been very good.”
The move comes a little over a week after Dodds Brown also sealed a spot at the commercial development for traditional sweet shop, The Sweet Corner, where enterprise units are available from £10 per day.
Richard Wilson, letting agent at Dodds Brown added: “Alta Ego’s unique handmade gifts join a number of other traders starting out in the market this month, as word continues to spread that this is an ideal place to run a business in Middlesbrough.”
