Halifax recruiter launches own business with Bluestones Group
The Bluestones Group has announced the launch of its latest joint venture, Cogent Staffing.
Cogent Staffing is a recruitment specialist business headquartered in Halifax, which also covers Huddersfield, Leeds and Bradford.
Sam Gaukroger, managing director of Cogent Staffing, launched the business after a decade of working in recruitment in the region, specialising in industrial, technical and commercial recruitment.
Cogent Staffing focuses on commercial, FMCG, engineering, manufacturing and logistics sectors.
Sam said: “I’ve built up a large network of clients and candidates over the years, and have loved being able to find the right roles for people, and the right people for businesses – but I’ve always been working for someone else.
“With the investment and support of the Bluestones Group I’ve finally been able to realise my vision of starting my own recruitment agency and putting all my experience to good use in building that business”.
The Bluestones Group invests in recruiters, recruitment agencies and staffing services businesses. Established in 2011, the group has now invested in over 30 joint ventures, launched 22 new brands, and is operating across ten locations in the UK.
In 2016, the company completed 13 joint ventures, reporting total turnover in excess of £55m. Its portfolio of recruitment and staffing services businesses cover four key divisions: professional, specialist, logistics and support services.
Trish Stratford, Bluestones Group board sponsor and divisional CEO, commented: “Sam has a fantastic background in his sector and region, and is well regarded by both clients and candidates alike.
“He’s exactly the sort of person we look to invest in, that can bring that wealth of experience, enthusiasm and capability to a new business venture”.
Cogent Staffing officially launched on 3rd July 2017 and is open for business now.
