‘Netflix for private jets’ is expanding its glitzy London to Cannes route
Surf Air, the private airline which offers all-you-can-fly subscription memberships, is expanding one of its most popular routes just six weeks after it launched.
The airline’s London to Cannes route will now see additional flights added from 1 September between the capital and the upmarket city on the French Riviera.
Surf Air’s private jets will fly both ways between London and Cannes on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from next month, with further routes set to be added throughout the year.
The airline, which provides users with as many flights as they like from a monthly subscription fee starting at £1,750, launched in the UK earlier this summer with a maiden flight on its London to Ibiza route in June.
The US company was founded back in 2013 and currently services 17 destinations from its California and Texas hubs, with subscribers able to book themselves onto a flight from their smartphone.
Simon Talling-Smith, CEO of Surf Air in Europe, commented: “We believe that Surf Air is the future of air travel, not only in terms of our streamlined service but in our prompt reactions to the requirements of our members.
“The London to Cannes route has proved very popular so we have responded directly to our members to adjust the frequency of the service.
“Our members are more than just passengers to us so we will continue to invest in routes required by them, something many airlines fail to consider.”
