Family-run veterinary group invests £150k in launching new Bradford practise
White Cross Vets has invested £150k in reopening a new practice in Eccleshill, West Yorkshire, 16 years after it last operated there.
White Cross Vets operates 16 other practices throughout the UK, including sites in Guiseley and Roundhay.
The business previously ran the Eccleshill practice on Harrogate Road between 1997 and 2001, before it was acquired by a national chain.
The new practice, which opened on Monday 4th September, has initially created six new jobs. It is being headed up by clinic director Andrew Miller, who joins from the firm’s Roundhay practice.
The building, which has undergone a complete refurbishment in recent months, now features an array of caring pet-led initiatives, including pheromone diffusers to create a relaxed ambience, calming pet music and ultra-soft bedding.
There is also a specialist cat ward, as well as separate, sound proofed wards for dogs and exotic pets.
Music is also played in the wards that is specifically composed to reduce anxiety in both dogs and cats, pre and post operation.
White Cross Vets is owned and managed by the Harrison family who are all from Bradford. The company now employs more than 200 employees after creating 50 new jobs in the last 12 months alone.
Tim Harrison, managing director of White Cross Vets, said: “Coming from a family of Bradfordians, and as a locally based business, it’s fantastic to be reopening in Eccleshill.
“This practice will incorporate all the best technology and knowledge from our 16 other practices to create one of Yorkshire’s most advanced veterinary surgeries.
“The move is already generating plenty of interest and we’re really looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming back many of our previous clients, as well as caring for lots of new pets in the area.”
White Cross Vets will be opening two further practices over the coming months.
