Fresh investment for Newcastle law firm Watson Burton
Law firm Watson Burton LLP has secured investment from a new corporate member.
WB Northern Limited is now the largest investor in the Newcastle-based business, sitting alongside current owners Chris Graham, Duncan Reid and Richard Palmer.
Watson Burton said the investment will enable it to take advantage of new ownership structures and long-term market developments.
WB Northern is authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and owned and controlled by Chris Graham, who commented: “The further investment into Watson Burton is a demonstration of both confidence and commitment in the future of the firm and the quality of its people which underpins the firm’s 200-year presence in the region.
“Myself and my partners, Duncan and Richard, together with our CEO, Patrick Harwood, have worked closely together over the years to lead the firm effectively through the tough trading conditions facing law firms as the legal services marketplace continues to evolve.”
Chris continued: “We will continue to work closely going forward to shape the business and ensure that our financial performance continues to be strong.”
Chief exec Patrick Harwood welcomed the backing from WB Northern Limited, adding: “The investment will assist the firm in its ongoing commitment to the development of core services, infrastructure and crucially, its people.”
