Barnoldswick new homes unveiled

DEVELOPERS BRING TO LIFE £6m COLLECTION OF FAMILY HOMES IN BARNOLDSWICK

WORK has begun to transform a green field site in East Lancashire into a bespoke £6m collection of family homes.

Over half of the 31 hand-crafted homes on the flagship development off Long Ing Lane in Barnoldswick – known as Kensington Forest - have already been reserved, underlining the town’s growing appeal as a place to live and work.

The Barnoldswick office of estate agents Petty has been appointed by developers Berkeley DeVeer to assist in the marketing of the remaining properties, which range in price from £175,000 for a three-bedroom mews to £250,000 for a four-bedroom detached.

The first phase will be ready to move into in the new year.

All are available with financial support through the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, an initiative which is helping housebuyers in East Lancashire to move on to, or up, the property ladder in ever-increasing numbers.

As part of the scheme, house purchases at Kensington Forest only require a 5% deposit. It offers homebuyers a 20% equity loan from the Government, which is interest-free for five years.

“It’s often overlooked that Help to Buy is not just for first-time buyers – it opens the doors to established homeowners too who have since sold their own properties,” said Dan Newett, managing director of Berkeley DeVeer.

“Kensington Forest offers a family of homes tailored to meet the needs of a growing local community, particularly the demand for new-build homes.

“Many are tailored with first-time buyers in mind to meet the needs of the local community, while others offer spacious family homes.”
