Ombudsman to relocate over 300 staff to Manchester’s Citygate scheme
The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) is moving more than 300 staff to a new base in Manchester city centre.
The organisation signed up for over 31,000 sq ft at the five-story Citygate building on Mosley Street.
Brokered by real estate advisory firm Colliers International on behalf of an institutional investor, the deal saw PHSO agree a 15-year lease for four floors of the remodelled scheme.
Scott Shufflebottom, a member of Colliers’ Manchester office agency team, said: “Citygate provides high specification Grade A office space in a highly sought-after location.
“We are now marketing the last remaining top floor suite, totalling 8,073 sq ft with on-site secure basement parking.”
The Manchester office of real estate advisory firm GVA acted for PHSO on the deal
Mark Baldwin, associate director at GVA, commented: “We were delighted to be appointed to act for PHSO with a strong track record to deliver the right result, against a very tight timescale.
“It was a fantastic GVA team effort with a very satisfied high-profile client. Citygate has been transformed thanks to an outstanding refurbishment with its open plan design being ideally suited to the requirements of PHSO.”
Colliers is a joint letting agents on Citygate alongside TSG Property Consultants.
