North West auto dealer Cox Motor Group has acquired eight acres of land next to its Lancaster Volkswagen showroom.
The firm will push forward with plans to create a 15,000 sq ft head office and after sales facility on part of the site, alongside two new road junctions and infrastructure works.
David Cox, the company’s managing director, said of the transaction: “We’ve been developing and expanding our Volkswagen facility on Mellishaw lane in Morecambe since 2014, and when the remaining eight acres adjacent to our site came up for sale, we decided to go for it.”

He continued: “Although these are only indicative ideas and we’d consider many other uses.
