Coleford development proves popular with Help to Buy users
A new development in Coleford is proving popular with users of the Government’s Help to Buy Scheme.
David Wilson Homes has released new figures which show that nearly a third of people moving into its Thurstan’s Rise development in the market town bought using the scheme.
And it’s not just first time buyers using Help to Buy in Coleford either; 55 per cent of those who used the scheme at Thurstans Rise sold a house to move to the development.
Louise Ware, sales director at David Wilson Homes, said: “We’ve been really interested by the breakdown of buyers at Thurstan’s Rise. It’s great to see that people are embracing the schemes that are out there to help them get on or move up the ladder, such as Help to Buy. Often people are surprised that second and third time buyers can use the scheme so we’ve been doing a lot of work with visitors to Thurstans Rise to bust the myths.”
Help to Buy allows any homebuyer to secure a brand new home under the value of £600,000 with just a five per cent deposit. The government lends the buyer 20 per cent of the value of the property in the form of an interest free equity loan for five years, meaning that buyers then gain access to some of the great mortgage rates currently available with just a 75 per cent mortgage. Available to all homebuyers, not just first timers, the scheme helps anyone looking for a boost up the property ladder.
Thurstan’s Rise is a development of three, four and five bedroom homes in the small market town of Coleford in Gloucestershire. Once complete, the new community will have a large green as well as two play areas.
Just eight homes remain at the development, with prices starting from £270,000. For more information about Thurstan’s Rise call 0844 5710 385 or visit dwh.co.uk
