There are Stranger Things in store this year for Topshop

With Halloween approaching this Tuesday (October 31), it seems one theme in particular has outshone the rest this year.

Forget your standard get-ups; classic horror films; stereotypical not-really-anything-to-do-with-Halloween costumes… Because for 2017, it’s all about Stranger Things.

The Netflix original was a huge success in 2016, so it is no surprise that the show is back for a second season - which, FYI, has aired today (October 27).

A global study conducted by Mailjet, which measured a database of over 25,000 subscribers, found that engagement and an email’s opening rate was 74 per cent higher when Stranger Things was mentioned in a subject line.

Halloween has always had the most appeal in America, but the UK is starting to get on board with the spooky holiday. Just take pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks - rates supposedly climb 10 per cent when the ridiculously popular flavour is mentioned.

Then, that’s not to mention the new trend of Halloween trees… A lot of us have decorated our living rooms with toy spiders and bats here and there, but 2017 has been the year in which Halloween has become - dare I say it - the new Christmas.

But back to the star of the show… Stranger Things is evidently in the spotlight so much right now that global fashion brand Topshop has released a special limited edition collection dedicated to the phenomenon. The brand’s logo on the website has even changed to the Stranger Things’ colour and font.

Topshop has really gone to town with this collection as well. There are your usual jumpers and shirts, but die-hard fans will absolutely love the vintage-themed packed lunch boxes and Pop! Vinyl figures.

We’ve rounded up our favourite items from the collection for you to choose from. Wear the jumpers and shirts for Halloween - or just wear them whenever the hell you want because they are completely transitional.

You could even put some of the items on your Christmas wish-list because, like I said, Halloween seems to be the new December 25, after all.
