Vote for Hoults Yard!

NEWCASTLE’S ‘business village’ is the only Tyneside workplace on the shortlist for a prestigious competition to find the North’s most inspiring places – and you can help Hoults Yard win the title.

The Yard is one of 32 places shortlisted in the Inspired Spaces North initiative which is run for businesses in the creative and digital sector by Manchester-based publishing company Prolific North in association with PR firm Active Profile.

Charlie Hoult, owner of Hoults Yard, said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in such a respected competition. We work hard to create an outstanding workplace community at the Yard – a place that can inspire and stimulate.

“Hoults Yard goes far beyond being a mere business centre; our community vibe pulls together an eclectic mix of people through Food Fridays, live music, live screenings, coffee mornings and dog shows.

“More than ever before, businesses are under pressure to attract, retain and motivate their employees. It has become critical to provide an inspiring, well designed and flexible space for staff to work, rest and play in – and that’s exactly what we do at the Yard.

“As the only representative from Tyne and Wear on the shortlist, we would hope that people across the north east support us now the public vote has opened.”

Inspired Places was launched in May and dozens of entries were received from workspaces across the North. The shortlist was drawn up after a three-hour judging session in August, and Hoults Yard’s competition comes from Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds – with its nearest rival being Stockton.

Speaking after the judging session, Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital & Centric, headline sponsor of Inspired Spaces North, said: “The scope and quality of many of the entries for this year’s Inspired Spaces North was brilliant, which made for an engaging judging session. There were some super stand-out submissions for me though, which weren’t just about quirky add-ons in office spaces, but more about functionality, productivity and really cool design.

“Inspired Spaces North is not just about showcasing the most eccentric offices but about celebrating the passion and energy a company can create for its staff through their workspaces.”

A public vote will help decide the Inspired Places Top Ten – the winner of which will be announced in November.

The public vote will remain open until October 31 and to register your vote for Hoults Yard, go to https://inspiredspacesnorth.wishpond.com/vote/entries/168369162
