Gibber Helps Children to Get Water Wise
A North Tyneside theatre company is helping North East primary school children to get water wise with a special educational performance.
‘Super Splash Heroes’ is an interactive pantomime show commissioned by Northumbrian Water and being delivered by Whitley Bay based Gibber. It is inspiring school youngsters to make a positive difference and waste less water.
Pupils at Fordley Primary School in Cramlington received a recent visit from the Gibber team and the Super Splash Heroes. During the show the children learnt why it’s important to use water wisely and found out practical ways they can save water every day.
Year 1 Class Teacher Mrs Ryder said “The performance was excellent, energetic, professional and effective. The children were engaged and entertained.” And a pupil in Year 4 said “I think that the show should be shown to other schools because it was very educational and helped a lot of people at our school to learn different ways to save water.”
The programme forms an important part of Northumbrian Water’s Every Drop Count’s campaign - designed to educate children, their families and the wider community about water efficiency and to raise awareness of the support available to help people reduce their water usage and save money.
Super Splash Heroes launched in March 2017 and is touring schools across Northumbrian Water’s northern and southern operating regions throughout the year. Two hundred performances will have been delivered by the time the tour ends on 8th December.
Delivery of the show in 2018 has also been confirmed due to positive results and outstanding feedback from schools. Primary schools interested in booking a Super Splash Heroes performance should contact Gibber on 0191 252 2039 or email hello@wearegibber.com.
