Here are the big property names coming together to represent Newcastle at MIPIM Cannes

Over twenty-five regional and national businesses have so far confirmed to join Invest Newcastle at next year’s MIPIM: The World’s Leading Property Market 2018 in Cannes.

What is MIPIM?

Spanning over four days, MIPIM is real estate exhibition, conference and networking event which is made up of almost 25,000 international property professionals.

Next year’s conference will provide a key opportunity for Newcastle to demonstrate the growth of the city’s core sectors, which include tech, digital, health and life sciences, to investors and highlight the growing demand for Grade A office space.

The global property event will take place from March 13th-16th at The Palais des Festivals.

Emerging sectors

The emergence and growth of key sectors that include health, life sciences, tech and digital will also be a running theme throughout the exhibition and will be discussed in relation to the growing clusters of businesses landing within those strategic sites.

Interestingly, the health, life sciences, tech and digital - which are currently thriving in Newcastle - will be a running theme throughout the exhibition and will be discussed in relation to the growing clusters of businesses landing within those strategic sites.

In turn, the event provides an ideal opportunity for Newcastle to grow its reputation as a leader in these fields whilst flaunting its attractiveness as a hotspot for inward investment.

Pioneering business centre Newcastle Science Central is the city’s outstanding example of a development zone harnessing enterprises beholding to the aforementioned sectors. The development will be a key showcase when the city’s delegation attends the event.

Regional players

Keepmoat, Tier One Capital, GVA, Ryder, Highbridge Properties, NBS and Science Central itself are some of the key partners already lined-up to project Newcastle’s vision and attract investment at the event. Delegates attending the event will be able to meet the businesses at the Newcastle Pavilion area.

Chief Executive of Newcastle City Council Pat Ritchie said: “Last year was about building momentum and confidence, and this year we feel that Newcastle’s moment has arrived and that there has never been a better time to invest in Newcastle. MIPIM is a great platform to showcase our collective offer.

“The city is seeing sustained growth and our market position is solid as developments like Newcastle Science Central and the Stephenson Quarter continue at pace. Our strong partnership approach demonstrates that we are willing and open for business.”
