Glendale talent honoured at industry awards

Five staff members from Glendale have been recognised at an awards ceremony which celebrates the work of young and upcoming talent within the green services industry.

The 30 Under 30: The Next Generation initiative was launched by industry magazine Pro Landscaper to celebrate the achievements of young people working in the horticulture and landscape sectors.

Adam Ryan, Anthony Harper, Laura Owens, Joanna Hill and Mike Booth were all awarded the accolade, and collected their awards at a ceremony held at Sandown Racecourse.

They were highlighted for demonstrating passion, dynamism, expertise and entrepreneurial spirit in their roles.

Joanna Hill, 29, joined Glendale in 2011 as a sales and marketing assistant, gaining promotion to marketing manager in August 2016. She’s based at Glendale’s headquarters in Chorley.

Laura Owens, 24, who is based in Newport, and Mike Booth, 25, who is based in Warrington, both joined the company as part of its graduate scheme, and have since progressed to management positions.

Adam Ryan, 28, and Anthony Harper, 28, both began their Glendale careers as apprentices in 2010. Adam is now a team leader working on the firm’s partnership with Liverpool City Council, while Anthony is a contract manager overseeing Glendale’s arboriculture team based in Sevenoaks.

Mike Brunskill, sales and marketing director at Glendale, said: “It’s fantastic that five members of our team have been recognised for their hard work and dedication.

“It’s vital we recognise the accomplishments of those shaping the future of our industry, while encouraging more young people to begin and develop their careers and motivating those already working in the sector.

“I’d like to congratulate Joanna, Laura, Adam, Anthony and Mike for winning this prestigious award, and I look forward to following their development and progress.”
