Stagedoor app smashes £200k crowdfunding with over 150% of target raised
An app to help audiences discover theatre, Stagedoor, has raised £312k in the first three weeks of its Seedrs crowdfunding campaign.
This has surpassed the goal of £200k. The company is expecting to close the round at £350k. So far, the app is said to have proved successful with investors in both the theatre and other tech industries.
Michael Hadjijoseph, co-founder and CEO of Stagedoor, said: “I would like to thank everybody who has invested in Stagedoor so far.
“It has been an incredibly encouraging experience and we are delighted that so many of our users have decided to share in our journey.”
The money raised should help the business reach 100,000 users in London, then expand into New York.
Stagedoor aims to provide users with a comprehensive, innovative theatre guide from their smartphones, helping people to discover and book shows in London via personal recommendations and preferences.
Francis Hellyer, CEO of London Theatre Direct, concluded: “Theatre is a social experience and Stagedoor is a tech platform that reflects that.
“It already has a thriving community of thousands of users and I’m sure it will be the catalyst for millions of great nights out at the theatre.”
