Plans approved for £22m new homes development in Knaresborough
Avant Homes has been granted planning permission to build a development of 78 new homes in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
The house developer has acquired a 7.2-acre site for the £22.3m development off Bar Lane, which will be its first development in the town.
The development will feature a mix of two-bedroom mews, three-bedroom semi-detached and four and five-bedroom detached homes, all complete with the housebuilder’s new interior specification.
Ground works on the site are due to commence in February 2018, with construction set to begin in May 2018.
The first homes are scheduled to be ready for occupation in December 2018.
Rob Slocombe, Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director, said: “The acquisition of land in Knaresborough is a key part of our strategic growth plans, as we expand our operations into North Yorkshire.
“We are very much looking forward to bringing our first development to Knaresborough and are expecting to see strong demand for our range of innovatively-designed new homes.”
As well as providing family homes, Avant Homes will deliver 31 affordable homes and invest more than £300k in education, infrastructure and travel initiatives for the town, including the development of public open spaces and a habitat area for local great crested newts.
Based in Wakefield, Avant Homes Yorkshire is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK.
For the financial year to 30 April 2017, Avant Homes group posted both record revenue and operating profit numbers. Revenues increased 45% year-on-year to £369m, whilst operating profits rose 107% to £45m.
