Liverpool developer signs deals with King’s College London and Edinburgh Uni
Liverpool developer Downing has signed agreements with King’s College London and the University of Edinburgh for hundreds of bedrooms at its Atlas and New Park developments.
At Atlas, a £130m scheme on the bank of the River Thames, Downing will operate all 553 bedrooms for King’s College London students.
The deal with the University of Edinburgh covers 160 bedrooms at the developer’s 238-room, £25m New Park complex off Easter Road in Edinburgh.
Downing joint chief exec Ann Lodge said: “We’re delighted to have signed these agreements with King’s College London and the University of Edinburgh.
“We’re now looking forward to working closely with both universities as they prepare to welcome students into the buildings later this year.”
She added: “These agreements will ensure that students are able to benefit from the high-quality student accommodation that Downing prides itself on providing.”
Downing currently owns and operates more than 5,000 student beds across nine locations, with a further 4,000 beds in the pipeline.
