PR and social media top of the agenda for Ilkley Soroptomists
The Ilkley arm of an international campaigning group has benefited from a PR and social media introduction from a local business.
Ilkley Soroptomists, part of Soroptomists International, held its fortnightly meeting on 22 March at the Clarke Foley Centre during which multi-award winning PR and social media agency Approach presented a guide to publicising the group and attracting more members.
Joy Lynch at Ilkley Soroptomists, said: “We welcome speakers every month as the group loves to hear from local businesses and the community – Approach’s skillset is exactly what we were looking for in helping us to encourage new members to join us.
“At the Ilkley Soroptomists, we are keen to get the younger generation involved in our campaigns for womens’ rights and understanding how and where to speak to them is definitely the first step. We’ll be undertaking more training with Approach which group members are looking forward to!”
Suzanne Watson, managing director of Approach which is Yorkshire and Lincolnshire’s reigning ‘outstanding small PR consultancy’, said: “The Ilkley Soroptomists do a lot of great work for women’s refuge and charities and it’s important that a younger generation of girls and women are introduced to the group’s efforts.
“We were honoured to attend the meeting and help share insight into PR and social media tips to further support the group.”
With more than 25 business and industry awards, Approach specialises in media relations, social media, b2b and b2c public relations and event and campaign management for clients including Eco Integrated Property Solutions, OnePay, United Carpets & Beds, Kirkgate Shopping and Whitakers Chocolates.
