Jet2.com and Jet2holidays launch three new destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport for Summer 2019
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has announced the launch of three new destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport as part of its Summer 2019 programme.
The airline company will fly to Bourgas (Bulgaria), Chania (Crete) and Izmir (Turkey).
This announcement means that Jet2 has 49 destinations on sale from Leeds Bradford Airport, a total of 1.8 million seats which represents a 7% capacity increase.
From May 2019, the company will operate a weekly Wednesday service to Bourgas (Bulgaria), meaning almost 8,000 seats in its first year of operation.
Stanislav Yevetski, the Bulgarian actor best known for his role as Victor Krum in Harry Potter, has helped this Bourgas announcement by supporting the launch to his home country, Bulgaria.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ second new destination for Summer 2019 is Chania (Crete). This new route will operate every Sunday.
The third brand new destination from Leeds Bradford is Izmir (Turkey).
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are extremely excited about our Summer 19 programme from Leeds Bradford Airport, which is our biggest and best to date. The three fantastic brand new destinations announced today, give holidaymakers even more choice with Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator.
“The addition of flights to Bourgas means we will operate to Bulgaria for the first time, and with resorts such as Sunny Beach on sale, we are expecting it be hugely popular with local holidaymakers.
“Greece continues to attract holidaymakers in huge numbers, and this new route Chania in Crete opens up the north west of this beautiful island. Finally, Turkey continues to see huge demand, so we are opening up more resorts on the west coast of this fantastic country, by adding flights and holidays to Izmir.
“We are hugely excited about Summer 19 when we will have thousands of 2-5-star hotels and a fleet of aircraft full of happy holidaymakers enjoying the VIP customer service that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays delivers.”

“Their commitment to this airport and the Yorkshire region is clear for all to see and I am sure the new destinations of Bourgas, Chania and Izmir will be very well received by our passengers.
“We have a great relationship with Jet2.com and following their recent success being crowned the UK’s best airline and named one of the best in the world, together with our exciting terminal redevelopments, these are exciting times for the travelling public in both our region and the surrounding areas.”
