Local housebuilder supports annual Wilsden Squash and Racketball Club Championships

Five-star housebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, has continued its support of the communities in which it builds by sponsoring the annual Wilsden Squash and Racketball Club Championships, which took place close to its Hewenden Ridge development in Cullingworth.

As well as donating £500 towards the event, David Coe, Land Director at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, presented awards to the winners and also found the time to take part in the competition. Donations such as these are vital in keeping local sports groups open and the housebuilder is always keen to support them where possible.

John Whiteley, Chairman at the Wilsden Squash and Racketball Club, said: “We’re extremely grateful for the donation from David Wilson Homes. These sponsorships really help us keep our teams alive and also run these annual championships. Both sports are a great way to keep fit and we welcome new members to the Club”

David Coe, Land Director at David Wilson Homes, commented: “We were delighted to support the club and their championship; we know how important it is for the community to have groups like this one in place, so anything we can do to help the club be successful is great”

Winners of the event included Chris Dennison, who won the squash championship, Gwyn Kay who won the racketball championship, and Phil Saville, who won the squash plate, with David Coe collecting the racketball plate. The club is also home to squash professional Taminder Gata-Aura who is current Yorkshire squash open champion.
