Join the Royal Wedding celebrations at intu Metrocentre
The Royal Wedding is now less than a week away and north east shoppers are invited to come and watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say, ‘I do’ in a special celebration area at intu Metrocentre.
On 19 May, people will be able to take a break from shopping and pull up a chair to follow ITV’s live coverage of the wedding on the big screen in Lower Qube, Yellow Mall. They will be able to soak up everything from the build-up beforehand, starting at 11.30am, to the much-anticipated first glimpse of Meghan’s dress and the ceremony itself, which takes place at noon at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
To add to the celebrations Goldsmiths will be handing out fabulous goody bags including catalogues of their Mappin and Webb collection - the company has held Royal Warrants to British monarchs since 1897, discounts on bridal jewellery, wedding favours from Handpicked, vouchers from Hotel Chocolat, delicious chocolates from Kuoni and a voucher to pick up a free glass of Prosecco in the Goldsmith’s store.
Shoppers will be able to watch the big day unfold with a host of tempting treats - Hotel Chocolat will be sampling indulgent Champagne truffles, Oh You Pretty Things will be on hand with samples of Pimms and non-alcoholic English Mojitos and Molton Brown will be adding a touch of luxe with their free goody bags, while showcasing scents favoured by the Royal couple.
intu Metrocentre’s youngest visitors can even join in the patriotic fun and colour in a Union Jack flag in a dedicated children’s area.
Entry will be on a first come first served basis.
