Developer Urban Splash to invest £820k in Salford Boat Shed complex
Regeneration company Urban Splash has confirmed plans to invest £820k in its Boat Shed office site in Salford Quays.
The six-figure sum will see a further 14,000 sq ft of workspace refurbished at the 40,000 sq ft building.
Castlefield-headquartered Urban Splash acquired the complex in 2016.
Since then, the company has secured close to 18,000 sq ft of lettings, including deals with comms agency Hat Trick PR, smart radiator valve business Novo Innovations and independent coffee house Lupo Caffé Italiano.
Aoife O’Sullivan, commercial lettings manager at Urban Splash, said: “The Boat Shed has unsurprisingly become a very popular proposition for businesses looking for workspace in this exciting and thriving area.
“Its excellent location within Exchange Quay, with both Media City and Manchester City Centre in easy reach make it a brilliant place to do business.”
Commercial director Emily Handslip commented: “The needs of modern businesses are rapidly evolving and high quality, refurbished space plus a communal, café area is key.
“The Boat Shed provides this not only within the confines of the building – but also across the wider Exchange Quay estate.”
