Liverpool FC put an end to poor 4G with Anfield upgrades
Liverpool FC have announced new 4G services at Anfield to keep supporters better connected.
The club tasked infrastructure delivery firm Wireless Infrastructure Group with installing the new stadium-wide network to enhance the matchday experience for LFC fans and visitors.
Available initially to those on O2 and Vodafone, the service will eventually be rolled out to include other mobile networks.
Supporters attending the Brazil v Croatia international friendly at Anfield this Sunday (June 3) will be the first to experience the improved high-speed connectivity.
Liverpool FC’s head of technology and transformation, Andrew Robinson, said: “Putting our fans first, improving their matchday experience and helping them to enjoy their time at Anfield is integral to our strategy.
“Providing consistent mobile coverage at scale to 54,000 fans is very challenging and slow mobile data speeds can be frustrating for fans.”
He added: “Using expertise from WIG we’re tackling this challenge with high quality 4G services throughout the stadium to provide a much better match day experience.”
