Fine art gallery invites you to celebrate the vibrancy of Winchester
Claridge Fine Art has teamed up with six other venues for a summer soirée – and you’re invited!
Claridge Fine Art invites you to join them on Thursday 19 July in celebration of one of Winchester’s most vibrant streets. The fine art gallery, which is owned by British contemporary artist, Simon Claridge, will play host alongside six other venues on Southgate Street, and promises to offer an evening to remember.
The venues taking part are an exciting mix of familiar franchises (Toni & Guy; Hotel du Vin), and independent businesses, such as Claridge Fine Art; Blu Bambu, who source reclaimed furniture from Indonesia; Searle & Taylor, a bespoke kitchen design service, and Sass & Edge, an independent womenswear boutique.
Each venue will open their doors to the discerning shopper from 6pm – 9pm, with many extending their normal opening hours especially for the occasion.
Simon Claridge, owner of Claridge Fine Art, says: “I’m very excited to be a facilitator of the Southgate Street Soirée! There are six venues taking part, and each venue will offer customers the chance to discover what we believe to be a fantastic cultural extension to the City, with a real mix of both well-known and independent businesses! We hope that as many people as possible will come along and support the event, so that we can make it a regular on Winchester’s cultural calendar.”
At Claridge Fine Art, shoppers will be treated to complimentary prosecco as they browse the works of the UK’s most sought-after contemporary artists, as well as having the opportunity to rub shoulders with globally-known artist, and gallery owner, Simon Claridge.
Says Claridge: “I’m looking forward to seeing a mixture of old and new faces; I love any opportunity to chat to collectors of my work, as well as contemporary art enthusiasts!” Shoppers are invited to pop in to each of the venues, who will be offering their own refreshments, before finishing up at Hotel du Vin for an evening of cocktails, canapés and conversation.
