Aprirose announces completion of Birmingham’s tallest residential tower
Birmingham’s tallest residential tower, part of The Bank scheme, which is owned by London-based real estate investment company Aprirose, has reached practical completion.
The £35m residential development in Birmingham city comprises 189 studio, one and two-bedroom properties and has already sold 90% of its apartments.
The site also features retail space on the ground floor, private landscaped gardens and a concierge service.
The 22-storey building standing 70 meters high is Aprirose’s first large scale residential scheme.
Designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects, the construction of the tower was managed by developer Regal (West Point) Ltd, a subsidiary of the Regal Property Group and delivered by Wates Construction.
Aprirose is also developing a second residential tower at The Bank Scheme.
This building comprises, 217 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments as well as a private gym and restaurant and is due to complete in the winter of 2019. The second tower, once complete, will stand at 33 storeys overtaking the first as the tallest residential tower in Birmingham.
The Bank Scheme is located off Sheepcoate Street, between Brindleyplace and Broad Street and is set to become a key landmark in Birmingham.
Manish Gudka, CEO at Aprirose, said: “The completion of Birmingham’s tallest residential building, which is 90% sold, along with the good progress of the second tower, is testament to the appeal of central Birmingham as a place to live and work, as it continues the successful regeneration of the city centre.
“Birmingham continues to attract large scale investment, with the HS2 rail link and redevelopment of Grand Central Station, as well as Arena Central and Paradise being a strong draw and generating continued demand for high-quality residential properties in the area.
“We look forward to the continued success of The Bank Scheme, our first large scale residential development, in one of the UK’s most vibrant and well-connected cities.”
The scheme is located directly next to the International Convention Centre, National Indoor Arena and the Central Business District, which is home to 10,000 employees from startups to FTSE 100 companies including Lloyds TSB Bank, Deloitte, RBS, Deutsche Bank and HSBC.
Knight Frank are the appointed agent on The Bank Scheme.
