Menzies snaps up top forensic accounting specialist
Top 20 accountancy firm, Menzies LLP, continues to grow its forensic accounting service by snapping up high profile forensic accountant and corporate investigation specialist, Paul Smethurst.
Paul trained with a Big 4 accountancy firm and has worked in both the UK and North America. He has been engaged to assist clients operating across a diverse range of business sectors, usually in connection with high profile/high value matters. He is also one of the few UK accountants to have been appointed as an Inspector with statutory interviewing powers by an offshore financial regulator.
Previously Partner and Head of Forensics at Carter Backer Winter, Paul brings with him 25 years’ experience in all areas of forensic accounting, including matters associated with valuation, shareholder disputes, loss of profits and corporate investigation. He also has particular expertise in financial services investigation and litigation and has extensive experience giving evidence in court, arbitration and other formal proceedings.
Paul’s appointment reflects Menzies’ ongoing commitment to strengthening its forensics team and enhancing its service offering to clients.
