Groceries delivery startup looks to raise £100k for central London rollout
Online marketplace Grocemania has started a six-figure crowdfunding campaign to develop its platform and ramp up sales.
The Kingston-based startup is looking to raise £100k on Seedrs as it prepares to roll out its services to central London and Reading in partnership with logistics firm QuiqUp and convenience chain Londis.
Grocemania, which operates via its website and app, enables customers to find and shop at grocery stores within a three-miles radius and have their orders delivered in minutes.
Since going live six months ago, the company has delivered more than 1,000 orders for over 400 active users.
A breakdown of Grocemania’s customer base shows that 50% fall in the ‘local mums’ category, 30% are male professionals in the 32-to-38 bracket, and 20% are students.
Its network consists of more than 30 shops and chains, with Tesco Express among the latest to sign up.
Grocemania said that of the capital invested on Seedrs, 40% will go towards developing its tech, 30% to signing new stores and the rest for an aggressive marketing strategy to grow order volumes.
