London HealthTech to accelerate US expansion with Silicon Valley acquisition
HealthTech firm Medopad has made its first acquisition to accelerate expansion in the US.
The Westminster-based company snapped up Silicon Valley AI startup Sherbit, which works with the largest healthcare systems in the US to enhance chronic disease patient care.
Medopad was founded with a mission of extending the lives of one billion people globally. Its technology is used by healthcare professionals to analyse patient data and detect life-threatening medical conditions.
In the UK, the company works with hospitals and NHS trusts including Royal Free London, Guy’s and St Thomas’, Chelsea & Westminster and Bart’s. Overseas, Medopad is working on projects in Germany, China, Singapore and elsewhere.
Dan Vahdat, CEO and founder of Medopad, said: “At Medopad we want to create a world where people can live longer.
“We are working with some of the biggest companies in the world to improve the way doctors care for their patients by monitoring them at home and spotting any complications before they arise.”
He added: “We are expanding rapidly across the world and acquiring Sherbit is just the first step for us in the US.”
Speaking further, Dan said Sherbit has “a strong track record” of success with some of America’s “most prestigious healthcare organisations”.
He continued: “Through this acquisition, Medopad will provide its technology to support solutions across different disease areas from rare diseases to chronic conditions.”
Sherbit chief exec Alex Senemar commented: “Sherbit and Medopad have the same vision to help people be healthier and live longer.
“We’re excited to leverage Medopad’s technology, clinical, and predictive analytics capabilities to expand what’s possible for our customers.”
