Prospects 'looking great' as Romford manufacturer expands with £150k funding
South East manufacturer Safe Packaging has expanded into bigger premises, created jobs and acquired new machinery with six-figure funding.
The firm used part of a £150k equipment finance package from HSBC to lease an 18,000 sq ft unit at Romford’s Newton Industrial Estate.
Safe Packaging put the remaining investment towards three new machines that assemble cardboard core and edge protectors, enabling it to ramp up capacity by 30%.
The HSBC funding also allowed the firm to add three staff to its existing 10-strong team.
Founded in 2010 by chief exec Fatih Hassolyu, Safe Packaging today manufactures and distributes packaging materials across the UK.
Fatih said: “I launched Safe Packaging soon after completing my business degree as my first venture into the corporate world, so it’s very rewarding to see it doing so well.
“Thanks to HSBC UK’s support and the guidance of our relationship manager Amran Miah, we have been able to increase our expert workforce and purchase new machinery and our prospects for future growth are looking great.”
James Patterson, HSBC area director for London, commented: “In the space of eight years Safe Packaging has gone from a startup to a well-respected business with a high turnover.
“As a supplier to major packaging wholesalers and logistics companies, Safe Packaging is now in a position to build on its success and become the ‘go-to’ company for packaging solutions nationwide.”
Safe Packaging has operations in Essex and Istanbul.
