    Scaling for success!
North East Scaleup Summit to take place in November
15 November, 8am to 1.30pm At: Wylam Brewery, Palace of the Arts, Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne
Taking place during national Scaleup Week, Scaleup Summit will bring together business owners, clients, partners and accomplished entrepreneurs from across the North East to share their strategies for success.
The summit, organised by Scaleup North East in partnership with North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) will explore the concept of scaleups, the common challenges and barriers to high growth and demonstrate the benefits of scaling.
Designed for ambitious and growing businesses both on the Scaleup North East programme and for those who want to explore the opportunity to scale, the event will encourage collaboration, share best practice and help scaleup businesses flourish in the region.
Jason Legget, Scaleup North East Programme Director said, “The summit is designed to bring together our fast growing scaleup community. It’s the first opportunity for scaleup businesses on our programme to meet, share their experiences and learn from each other. We’re also inviting the wider business community, especially those interested in scaling, to what will be an inspiring and informative event’.

Colin Bell, Business Growth Director at the North East LEP, said: “The Strategic Economic Plan clearly sets out how scaling can drive productivity and increase the number of more and better jobs, which is the LEP’s main objective. This excellent event is designed to inspire and support the region’s business leaders in realising their growth ambitions and I’d urge as many people as possible to go.”
Sessions will include:
- The Importance and Impact of Scaleups. Insights and research from the key figures from the Scaleup Institute, Innovate UK, North East LEP and Institute of Directors.
- Should I Scale, or Should I Grow? Case studies from four regional businesses that are currently undertaking growth with the help of Scaleup North East.
- The Business of Scaleups. Keynote presentation from Dr Roy Stanley, Chairman of GroundSix, followed by a panel discussion with successfully scaled businesses he has worked with.
