Startup innovators chosen for Campus London’s ‘Tech for Good’ programme

Google’s centre for supporting UK startups, Campus London, has announced the names of six innovators taking part in its new ‘Tech for Good’ residency.

The four-month programme will give participating firms access to the Campus London community, Google resources, industry experts from around the world and tailored business support.

Out of hundreds of applicants from the tech-for-good sphere, the chosen startups include intelligent care planning software company KareInn; an app called Spill aimed at changing the perception of talking therapy; and Alice, which uses blockchain to identify and scale social and environmental projects.

Also selected were GTN, a firm boosting efficiencies in the drug development cycle; Labstep, which makes lab research more reproducible using real-time scientific process data; and Sci Apps, which empowers consumers to make informed ethical decisions over their cosmetic products.

Entrants pitched to a panel of Google representatives and VCs from the Google network. Winners were chosen for their potential to deliver technological innovation and harness the power of technology to improve people’s day-to-day lives.

The head of Campus London, Amrit Dhir, said: “The goal for our first ‘Tech for Good’ Campus Residency is to bring together exceptional individuals who share a passion for building a better world for everyone.

“We offer founders unparalleled access to resources such as mentorship and Google teams and tools, all which enable them to collaborate with Googlers, with each other, and with entrepreneurs across our global networks.”

Amrit added: “Tech for Good seeks to harness technology by enriching the lives of those far beyond the startup community and tech industries.”
