Harrogate health centre OneWellness invests £250k in new consultation rooms

Harrogate’s OneWellness health and wellbeing centre has expanded with a £250k investment.

The six-figure project added a suite of state-of-the-art consultation rooms to the second floor of the 3,229 sq ft building, introducing additional services including dermatology, physiotherapy, and sports medicine and therapy.

OneWellness is part of Leeds-headquartered health services business OneMedicalGroup.

Opened in March last year, its aim is to help people stay fit and well for life.

The centre’s clinicians cover areas including physiotherapy, fitness and dermatology, as well as mental health and traditional family medicine.

Its launch was inspired by the NHS’ refocus on preventative care and tackling potential health problems before they turn into a major risk.

Earlier this year, OneWellness welcomed its first lifestyle GP to the team, TV presenter Dr Helen Lawal, best known from shows including Channel 4’s How to Stay Well and Food Unwrapped.

OneMedicalGroup chief exec Rachel Beverley-Stevenson said: “With member numbers increasing, and seeing the genuine need for the facilities OneWellness offers, it made sense to invest in growing the services we provide at our Harrogate centre.

“There’s a clear shift towards encouraging people to take a proactive role in managing their health and wellness, whatever their current level of ability or their lifestyle choices.”

She added: “It’s such a positive step to take, and one that can make a real difference in terms of turning lives around – but people need the tools and the support to make those changes.”
