Housing manager charts in new Top 40
A housing services manager with Midlands based Housing Plus Group has been named in the first ever 40 over 40 list, published by 24Housing magazine. Samantha Allcott is included in a chart spotlighting people who have changed the lives of tenants, inspired their colleagues and transformed the way that organisations work.
The magazine said that it wanted to highlight housing professionals who make a difference. Their inaugural top 40 list was published on 2 November.
Samantha turned her experience as a member of cabin crew with a national airline into a high-flying career in housing. Having celebrated her 40th birthday this year, she can reflect on a string of hits during a decade in the sector.
As income manager with South Staffordshire Housing Association Samantha gained an outstanding reputation, delivering a best practice presentation at a national rent arrears conference. She achieved funding through the Building Better Opportunities programme securing the future of the association’s Work & Skills Service and led on a Universal Support Delivered Locally pilot drawing on strong partnerships with local and national government.
Becoming group income manager on the merger between Severnside Housing and Housing Plus, Samantha developed a strategic approach to Welfare Reform, protecting the Group from associated risks.
“Sam finds the positive in every situation. She’s the most supportive, motivational, inspirational and fun manager I have ever had,” says a member of her team.
