PHMG named one of UK’s top 10 best places for workplace culture and leadership

A Manchester-based audio branding specialist has been named as one of the top 10 best companies in the UK for workplace culture and leadership.

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and job website Glassdoor listed PHMG at number 10 in their ‘Leadership and Culture at Work: the CMI/Glassdoor Top 20’ - ahead of Salesforce, Hiscox and Rentokil.

The high profile ranking of UK businesses is based on employee reviews and is created using a unique algorithm that combines scores for senior management, culture and values, and recommend-a-friend ratings.

“It may sound like a cliché but our employees are truly our most valuable asset,” said Grant Reed, Managing Director at PHMG.

“We take every opportunity to invest in our people, developing structured training programmes and paths for career progression. This allows employees to reach their full earning potential, offers creative fulfilment in every role and results in real job satisfaction.”

“This commitment to our staff means we take every opportunity to promote from within, and the majority of our management team have worked their way up to their senior positions. This gives them an unrivalled understanding of the business and the inner workings of their department, allowing them to get the very best from their team and deliver a world-class service to our clients.”

The company has also been named as one of the London Stock Exchange’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire’ for the fourth consecutive year, as well as appearing on the 2017 and 2018 ‘Ward Hadaway Fastest 50’ lists.

Rob Wall, Head of Policy at CMI, said: “The CMI/Glassdoor Top 20 showcases companies with the best management and working cultures in the UK. At a time when trust in business is at an all-time low, good management and leadership is more important than ever to build inclusive and inspiring cultures which enhance productivity and promote employee engagement and wellbeing.

Joe Wiggins, Head of Corporate Communications, EMEA at Glassdoor, added: “The business benefits of putting employees first are now proven – investing in culture and leadership is mission-critical for all companies. The CMI/Glassdoor Top 20 is setting a high bar for other leadership teams to emulate.”

PHMG is the world’s largest audio branding agency, with offices in Manchester and Chicago, and more than 32,000 clients in 39 countries worldwide.
