Northern digital agencies rival London with transpennine coalition
Digital agencies across Yorkshire and Manchester are teaming up to make it easier for businesses to find the perfect agency.
More than a dozen in Manchester have signed as members of Breadwinner Agencies – an intermediary organisation that already represents over 40 of the best known digital firms in Yorkshire.
The roster, run by entrepreneur Chris McCash, offers clients free advice on pitching and handling agencies.
Chris said: “All the agencies know that clients are not that interested in researching every agency specialism and proposition.
“A one-stop shop with honest, impartial advice works for the clients as it reduces risks and saves a lot of frankly painful credential meetings.”
He continued: “The creative industry is very London centric and this is mainly due to a lack of knowledge about the talent outside the capital.
“A regional, selective roster is a way of giving clients from all over the country confidence to work with Northern agencies coupled with, let’s face it, better beer.”
The Manchester agencies involved are: Brandon, BJL, Dinosaur, Fluid Digital, Apadmi, Electric Circus, LOVE., Lesniak Swann, McCann Manchester, Republic of Media, Zeal Creative, PR Agency One, The Market Creative, Smoking Gun, Wilson Cooke, Sputnik and True North.
Yorkshire firms already signed up include Perfect Storm, Ewe Agency, DS. Emotion, Pikcells and Ponderosa.
LOVE. chief exec Trevor Cairns said: “Agency representation is focused on London for obvious reasons. A regional intermediary was long overdue and it was a pleasure to support it.”
